You know, it’s funny: a breakup always has a ripple effect so that more people than just the original couple are affected. That’s when you learn the true makeup of people whom you thought you knew, some for better, some for worse. Some of you have surprised me with your graciousness. Some of you have surprised me because I always thought more of you than you apparently really are. And some of you haven’t surprised me at all; you’re exactly who I thought you were, and I won’t miss you. Out of all the people that I knew when Cynth and I were together, three have reached out to me since we broke up, and I want to say thank you to all of them. And I don’t blame any of the rest of you for not doing so, because I haven’t reached out to you either. To be honest, I don’t know yet where my boundaries are, but that’s no one’s fault or problem but my own. All I ask is that you try to understand that I still exist and I’m still the same person and that just because I’m silent doesn’t mean that I don’t care if I’m treated with immaturity and disrespect. I’m just trying to take the space that I need and not get in anyone’s way. I want this to be peaceful. Please respect that. |

Apparently, according to the Implicit Association Tests developed by a psychologist at Harvard University, I have: -A moderate association of White People with "Good" things and Black People with "Bad" things (I'm so ashamed!, but read here for information on how that makes me kinda like everyone else, which isn't better). -Little to no Automatic preference between "Feminism" and "Traditional Values". I'm shocked! I'll do more later. In the meanwhile, test for yourself. I think most of you will be surprised at how you score. They have a whole slew of topics, but I think race is first. Apparently the test itself is supposed to be pretty accurate, since it tests your speed reactions to forced associations, not what associations you would actually make. It's actually a little nerve-racking, since it's timed. Here it is, have fun: IAT. |

So, I discovered a way to listen to music at work, despite the fact that we take incoming calls. The chair dancing only gets worse from here. |

So, my Dad & Stepmom, et al., sent me a $100 gift certificate for Zappos. I decided to go look around and found these. Quite certainly the coolest and most I can't stop thinking about them. I've never felt this way about shoes before. They just might be (dare I say it?) .... the "ones"!!! Points to remember: -They're black -They're leather -They're boots -They have FLAMES on them!! -They're Harley-Davidson!! |

1. I think I think I'm funnier than most other people probably think I am. 2. I have small feet and hands. 3. I should be working right now. 4. I'm considering participating in National Novel Writing Month (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) 5. I often keep the IMDB page of Family Guy memorable quotes open on my desktop at work to keep me in a good mood. 6. I'm actually HAPPY to be giving (a reputable) someone 7. I'm probably going to Wasabi for dinner tonight, our favorite place. 8. I have 2 beautiful (not-so)little kittens at home that I can't wait to see every day and cuddle with every evening. 9. I had my appendix out a little over 3 years ago and the scar is still kinda purple. 10. I drink a lot of water. 11. I wear a contact in only my right eye. The other has astigmatism and the vision isn't bad enough to warrant wearing a toric lens. 12. My best friend and I one time counted 60+ little scars on my hands... I was a pretty rough little kid :-) 13. My co-workers and I just had a conversation about The Land Before Time cause I said, "yep yep yep" for some reason and it made me think of Petrie... then we moved on to Pizza Hut and the Book It program. 14. I've never seen A Christmas Story all the way through. 15. I can more or less quote Billy Madison word-for-word all the way through. 16. One time my 4 roommates and I had a random guy living on our couch for a couple weeks. We met him on the street outside and let him stay. He did the dishes and brought us beer. We called him Houseboy. Later we found out he stole some of roommate J4's psych drugs. 17. When I was a little kid I thought my mother was an alien. I thought she hung out in her room in alien form and when I walked down the hallway to her room I would trigger an alarm and she would turn back into her human form. 18. Also when I was a little kid, my dad told me there were little people in the radio playing the songs... and that mannequins were real people. I believed him. To this day I think mannequins are gonna grab me when I walk by them... 19. I need to renew my car's registration. 20. I once did a George H. W. Bush impression in front of my entire 7th grade class in my speech for 7th grade class Vice President. Poor choice (as Yeah, I don't tag. And I'm at work, so it's taken way too long to do this anyway. But it was fun. ALSO: I SOOOOOO almost lost that entire thing after typing it. Thank God I had hit preview. Even though I closed the preview window before trying to update and losing my entry, I was able to find it in Temp Internet files (file is entry.bml). That might be interesting/helpful for anyone out there who loses posts... ETA: I added the second "I think" to the first line. What I mean is, I find myself more amusing than others do. ETA: New estimate on the car is $1007 or so. I don't need a new Idle Air Control Valce, but I ned a new alternator. And I can have her back for good tomorrow. |

OK, so I start with a boxing gym on Monday. Here's to hoping this lasts longer than Judo did (which isn't ultimately off the table). I know it sounds a little out there, but I've found recently that the more I work out the more I want to work out, so here's what I have going: Lift weights Mon Wed Fri mornings Run Tues Thurs Sat mornings Boxing... I dunno, but I can go any weekday after work, so probably Mon Wed Fri evenings Possibilities: Local Judo class Saturday mornings (I could walk there it's so close) Local LAX team practices Sunday afternoons I don't know about the last two, I think I'll see how the other workouts are going. But since they're only one day a week they might fit in quite nicely.... of course, I can't really give up my weekends until the summer is over, too many busy weekends. Playing lacrosse again would just make me happy and I could enjoy Judo once a week without getting the crap beaten out of me nearly so much.... but, we'll see if I end up going for those. For right now, the boxing is the new thing, so let's hope I stick with this one. Off to go running and head over to the gym (I didn't lift weights yesterday morning). |

Hello All: If anyone out there has any helpdesk or Active Directory administration experience, listen up: The company I work for, CompuCom, is looking for people for 2 positions with Pfizer (these are consultant positions): 1. Level 1 Help Desk Analyst 2. Level 2 PRC Analyst (Network account administration) Help Desk Analyst Answers phone calls and provides triage for 70K+ users all over the US (sometimes from outside US), with call volume during peak hours anywhere from 30 to 80 calls/day. Escalates tickets to the appropriate teams, and follows up with clients if situation requires. Requirements: -Help Desk experience and/or appropriate level of education. -Strong skills with various software, but most importantly the Office Suite of applications and Outlook in particular. -Working knowledge of network infrastructure and tcp/ip. -Working knowledge of PC hardware. -Excellent customer service skills (this is usually their biggest selling point, although knowledge and experience are quite important). PRC Analyst Performs 2nd level account support, mostly with Active Directory, but also some NT, Exchange and Unix. Creates, maintains, remediates, and disables accounts and groups/DLs for Pfizer globally. Also performs some network share administration. Requirements: -Active Directory, NT, Exchange (5.5 and 2003) and/or Unix experience. -Working knowledge of network infrastructure and tcp/ip. -Excellent customer service skills (this is usually their biggest selling point, although knowledge and experience are quite important). These jobs are both located in Parsippany, NJ (where I work). They haven't told me what the salaries are for either of them, but if you are interested, reply to me and I can probably give you a range (I've done both of these jobs). CompuCom offers a full benefits package, including 401k, health/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, etc. There are also other perks like a lot of free online training for certs, etc. available, depending on your job. It is a very large company operating mostly in North America, which recently got the contract to provide helpdesk services for most of Pfizer's North American business units (as well as some local desktop support contracts). Reply to me if you're interested and I'll get more details for you. Thanks. |

( Introducing. . . ) In related news, I also managed to get my machine to get my machine to finally start utilizing USB 2.0 (1.1 just wasn't utilizing pod!'s potential) and IEEE 1394 (a.k.a Firewire). Now I should start seeing better performance with most of my peripherals. ( Don't read this if you get mad when I talk about moderately geeky things. ) Weeee! off to bed to dream about pod!. Good night all... Oh yeah: I also had fun this weekend at Dani and Jamie's party and at my Mom's last night and today. |

If anyone happens to have any thoughts on the whereabouts of For any of you who may have partaken of Oktoberfish, if you happen to recall seeing it there, please let us know. The wallet itself is a black mesh/nylon trifold with flames on it and a velcro enclosure. Again, any ideas (even "Hey, did you try the fridge??" or other suggestions) would be helpful. Thanks! |

So I've decided to put some pictures up online where everyone can take a look them and/or get them printed. I won a bunch of free prints from snapfish.com so I decided to put them up there and let everyone share the wealth. If there are any that any of you would like prints of, just send me an email at crashrosepfizer@yahoo.com with the file names you'd like printed. To view them, go to the Snapfish album and login with the following info: Email address: friends@cynthandkatie.com Password: pictures There are some duplicates between the 2 albums, but they should have the same file names. Hope you like em! |

To try to to keep my mind off the next 4 years, I decided that it was time to introduce you to our fish. I've been pretty excited about the pictures I was able to snag with my new camera. The picture of Aneas isn't very good, but he's not one to sit still for his photo shoot.... or anything else for that matter. ( So here they are ) Hope you enjoyed this little break from dealing with realilty. |

If CNN doesn't post some exit poll data soon, my head is going to explode. ... not a violent explosion, just some uncontrollable shaking then an anticlimactic *pffft* and Katie's head is gone. The rest of me will have to live on. |

Today is Cynth's and my anniversary. 3 years. That's a long time. For our anniversary, I'm taking the girl out to Red Loster. And, she doesn't know it yet, but that's not all she's getting for our anniversary. I've secured 3 tickets to see one of her and her mother's favorite people ever: Dolly Parton. And, of course, her mother will be coming along, which I think will make her very happy as well. Tonight I will give her the tickets, which she has no idea even exist, as far as I can tell. If she does, well, it'll still be exciting. I'm just excited cause I'm usually terrible at keeping suprises suprises, and I think I might have done it with this one.... ETA: She liked it a lot and had no idea it was coming. Yay! |
